Working under the general direction of the General Manager, the Financial Manager is the sole FTE in the Financial Department, and performs a variety of routine and complex, administrative and technical accounting and finance functions in maintaining the fiscal systems of the LCMC including coding of financial and accounting information in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cashiering, as well as establishing and implementing controls, procurement policies and providing auditing oversight. This position will work directly with the Board of Directors, General Manager and Department Managers in developing annual budgets and ensuring appropriate Department oversight, utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position’s duties will include paying all department invoices, working with a CPA and Auditor to file tax returns and complete audit preparation. The Financial Manager will also track employee leave balances, employee IRA contributions. It is expected that this position will provide contextual reports to Board of Directors and offer analysis on increasing efficiency. Requirements
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), automated financial accounting systems, and internal control procedures. • Knowledge of accounting structure, policies and operating programs. • The ability to operate a personal computer and office equipment, including applicable software. Extensive experience with Excel including loading text files and pivot tables, and general knowledge of Quickbooks would be helpful. • Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing with LCMC officials and managers governmental officials, consultants, employees, and community members. • Skill interpreting administrative guidelines and applying them to the work situation. • The ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities and time management. • Skill in problem solving and analysis, auditing, internal control, and interpreting financial data • Experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting complex financial reports and notes. • The ability to maintain efficient and effective financial systems and procedures.
